Event Format
Thursday 27th May ( Practice )
Official practice will consist of a 3 hour block period, commencing at 6.00
pm local time.
Competitors will be required to fit Tx timing units to their
sprintcars throughout the practice period. Drivers will be permitted to hot
lap in groups of 4 cars, 6 laps per session. Drivers may hot lap as little
or as often as they wish within the timing period.
At the conclusion of the
timing period, the fastest time recorded against their vehicle will be applied
as their time trail position.
As per the S.C.C.A. Australian Sprintcar Championships
supplementary regulations/rules, no points will be awarded for time trials,
the best time each driver records will be used to seed drivers into their heats
and for splitting points.
Friday 28th May ( Night One )
If directed, drivers will be required to track pack. A hot lap session will
be programmed for all drivers from 5.30pm
Two rounds of heats will be programmed, five heats per round, maximum of twelve
cars per heat, ten laps per heat. If the total number of drivers able to contest
the Championships drop to 48 cars or less (determined prior to competition),
the number of heats per round may be amended to four. Grid positions
for the first heat will be drawn, the second round of heats grid draw inverts the
first heat. All drivers to have an inside/outside row start.
The highest 16 point scorers will contest the Preliminary A Main Feature, conducted
over 20 laps.
Saturday 29th May ( Night Two )
If directed, drivers will be required to track pack. Drivers will be reseeded
into their remaining heats, dictated by the total amount of points collated
from Night One.
A hot lap session will be programmed for all drivers from 5.30pm
Two rounds of heats will be programmed, five heats per round, maximum of twelve
cars per heat, ten laps per heat. If the total number of drivers able to contest
the Championships drop to 48 cars or less (determined prior to competition),
the number of heats per round may be amended to four. All drivers will be
reseeded from total points collated from night one, the third heat will be
drawn and the fourth heat will be an inversion of the third heat. All drivers
to have an inside/outside row start.
If required, the C Main event will be conduted over 10 laps for those drivers who
are placed from 31st position to last points (determined by their total points allocation).
First and Second place finishers of the C Main will transfer to the rear of the
B Main Event
The B Main event will be conducted over 15 laps for those drivers who are placed
17th position through to 30th position (determined by their total points allocation) (plus
the first two finishers from the C Main). First and second place
finishers of the B Main will transfer to the rear of the A Main Feature Event.
Third and Forth place finishers will be eligible to start in the A Main Feature
Event if reserves are required.
The A Main event will be conducted over 40 laps for those drivers who are placed
1st position through to 16th position (determined by their total points allocation) (plus
the first 2 from the B Main plus 2 reserves if required.) Australia One is elgible
to start the A Main from position 19 should he not qualify through the heats.
